SMH has been providing quality care to our community for 60 years. As the leader in healthcare on the Northshore, we offer advanced technology and innovative treatments to help keep you well — including a Level III neonatal intensive care unit, the SMH Heart Center and the SMH Regional Cancer Center.
Located in the heart of Slidell, Louisiana, 30 minutes north of New Orleans, we offer two acute care hospital campuses with 223 beds at our Main campus and 36 beds at our East campus. Both campuses are equipped with expert physicians, specially trained staff and the latest treatments and technology.
- Slidell Memorial Hospital continues to invest in new technology with three state-of-the-art Cardiac Catheterization Labs, adding to the interventional cardiology services at the SMH Heart Center to meet the growing needs of the community.
- Recognized with a top designation by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer, the SMH Regional Cancer Center brings together specialists from all disciplines in a comprehensive, collaborative program that utilizes cutting-edge technology and treatment options.
- Slidell Memorial Hospital is dedicated to improving the quality of life in our community, by expanding services and focusing on quality, earning designations as a Primary Stroke Center, Breast Imaging Center of Excellence and a Louisiana Birth Ready Designated Birthing Center.

The SMH & Ochsner Partnership
SMH and Ochsner Health have formed a strategic, long-term partnership to offer Slidell residents access to expanded local care at lower costs. Going forward, both organizations, their physicians and patients will benefit from shared best practices, expanded services and advanced, patient-centered technology.
The partnership has added new services and medical specialists to our community that previously did not exist, such as:
- Cancer clinical trials
- Expanded cardiology services including 24/7 on-call heart surgery coverage
- Robotic-assisted surgery
- Additional specialists recruited to our area
- Specialty clinics, including the Comprehensive Weight Loss Center, Back and Spine Center and the John Ochsner Vascular and Heart Center.
