Know Before You Go

All patients must go through Admitting before undergoing any type of procedure, including X-Rays and Lab work. Admitting is located through the automatic doors on the left just inside the main entrance on Gause Blvd.

Valuable Items

We recommend that you leave your valuables at home. If you do bring a valuable item, it should be deposited in the safe in the Security Department, where you will be given a written receipt for all items that must be presented when you withdraw them. The hospital does not accept responsibility for items of value unless they are deposited in the safe. Dentures, eyeglasses and contacts should be placed in protective containers when not in use.

Smoke-free Campus

Upholding our commitment to provide a safe and healthy environment, Slidell Memorial Hospital became tobacco-free in 2010. This policy prohibits the use of tobacco products by all SMH employees, volunteers, students, contractors, patients and visitors. Smoking and the use of other tobacco products is not permitted anywhere on hospital property, both inside or outside.

Telephones

Local and toll-free calls may be made from the telephone provided in each room by dialing "9” and the number. To dial a patient room from outside of the facility, dial (985) 280-2200 and ask for the room number. Long distance and collect calls cannot be charged to your room. The use of cell phones is strictly prohibited within the hospital.
